We are excited to welcome another large women’s team! We have skiers who started cross country skiing at Nordiqcanada clubs across like foothillsnordic, bxcski, nakkertokracing btncski & clubnordiquemsa. We also have athletes who picked up skiing in high school and want to learn to race, and athletes coming over to skiing from other sports. We’re thrilled to be keeping more skiers in the sport and getting more women on skis. Please consider supporting some of these women in our Stair Challenge this weekend (see link in bio). 2nd up for our profile of uOttawa Nordiq graduating athletes is Katherine Denis. Katherine is graduating with a degree in Human Kinetics from the Faculty of Health Sciences. Katherine has been a terrific teammate, inspiring our team with her ability to balance school, high performance skiing, and coaching. This year she even took time to give back to the team as she stepped into a leadership role as President. All with a humble and easy going nature, Katherine has shown a remarkable dedication to training, stellar performances, and admiral perseverance through injury. A highlight of Katherine’s University skiing was representing Canada and the uOttawaGeegees at the FISU Winter Universiade in Russia last March, the largest university winter multisport competition in the world. The athletes at nakkertokracing are really fortunate to have Katherine as a coach. Beyond helping them learn to love skiing and racing (and skiing well!), she is an incredible role model that is keeping young athletes engaged in the sport.
