Week 33: Emily W. (eml_wong) is a Wushu (Chinese Martial Arts) athlete. She has been competing since her childhood. She has competed at various national and world competitions, and placing 9th at the World Wushu Championships in 2017. She is passionate about nutrition education especially for younger athletes in elementary and high school. Nutrition Success Story: Julia! 🎉🎉🎉 Julia was the TOP FEMALE on our recent 6 Week Spring Clean Clean Up Nutrition Challenge! 🎉🎉🎉 During the Challenge Julia LOST: * 12.4 lbs * 1.7%. body fat 🎉🎉🎉 Why did you decide to join the Spring Into Summer Nutrition Challenge? 🥗🥗🥗 I joined to get myself back in track. Busy days meant not scheduling meals eating on the run. I felt I was out of control. I was looking for some helpful hints to make things a little easier. 🥗🥗🥗 What have you gained/ learned from taking the Challenge? 🥗🥗🥗 The biggest thing I learned is that it is not that hard. If I take the time to plan my week, it makes my life so much easier. I also really think about portions and I can do this if I am home our out for dinner. 🥗🥗🥗 What would you say to someone considering doing a Challenge or Nutrition Program at CFNAC? 🥗🥗🥗 I would highly recommend it. After the six weeks you will feel so much better about yourself. It will give you that boost to keep going. If I can do it anyone can do it !!! You are important, make yourself a priority.

Did You Know? Turmeric + Black Pepper should be taken together. Black pepper contains piperine which enhances curcumin absorption in the body by up to 2,000% Curcumin is the main ingredient in turmeric. Combining the spices, magnifies their effects. This is why the best supplements contain both because without black pepper, tuneric, and curcumin, more specifically, does not absorb well. Be careful with supplements, however, because a Stanford led study revealed that tumeric is sometimes adulterated with heavy metals, like lead-laced chemicals.
