For National Truth and Reconciliation Day PCT will remain OPEN for all Team Practices, Classes, and Lessons. As we reflect on the significance of this day we call on the governments of Canada to accelerate the implementation of the 94 Calls To Action from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. And for the PCT Community to read the 94 Calls to Action and to wear orange to practice and school. The seven feathers shown in this post represent the seven guiding principles adopted by many Indigenous communities and organizations, which are Love, Respect, Courage, Honesty, Humility, Truth, and Wisdom. We encourage you to learn more about Indigenous history, residential schools, and heritage. On this historic day of reflection and solidarity, we would like to acknowledge the land and traditional territories that PCT operates on as part of the Treaty Lands and Territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit. For thousands of years, Indigenous peoples inhabited and cared for this land. In particular, we acknowledge the territory of the Anishinabek, Huron-Wendat, Haudenosaunee and Ojibway/Chippewa peoples; the land that is home to the Metis; and most recently, the territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation who are direct descendants of the Mississaugas of the Credit.
