Did You Know? By adding lemon to green tea, it allows the body to absorb the antioxidants from the green tea, more effectively. They are known as catechins and they are responsible for most of the health benefits associated with green tea. Green tea has many health benefits. I drink it daily, and I learned this trick a couple of years ago. Did you know this? There are many more food synergies, that I'll post about in the next few days. You may already know a few. Let me know your health hacks or food synergies you know. #foodsynergies #healthhacks #greentea #lemon #antioxidants #seewhatshecando
Are You Aware Of The Sneaky Sugars? You may think youre eating clean...but maybe you're not! Take a look at the products and if you're eating or drinking those, either curtail or eliminate altogether. Tough love 😊 For me, I ALWAYS read the labels of any non whole foods. You can always add sweetener (natural) but can't reduce what's already there! As I've said before, try to buy as much as possible from the perimeter of the store. Will You Change Your Habits? Comment below 👇 Happy shopping! #healthyhabits #eatinghealthy #wholefoods #sneakysugars #addedsugar #processedfoods #perimeterofstore #seewhatshecando

Foods That Are 💩 The manufacturers of these food products above, would have you believe they are "healthy". Don't be fooled. For example, cheerios are NOT heart healthy, in fact they are detrimental to your health. By ingesting, you're doing more harm than good because of the added sugar and refined grains. They will raise your blood glucose level that could, over time, move you closer to insulin resistance and possibly diabetes. I'm definitely not perfect, but the more educated I have become about insulin resistance, the more I try to steer clear of these type of products. In general, the less processed the food we eat, the better. Stick to the perimeter of the grocery stores. Try to eliminate one processed food item at a time. Were you aware of above? Will you be changing your habits, as a result? #healthyhabits #eatinghealthy #wholefoods #shoptheperimeter #weightloss #healthymums #weightlossjourney #weightlossformums #weightlossformoms #seewhatshecando

It's The Small Habits. Try changing one habit a day and before you know it, you'll have changed many and they will become permanent behaviour! For example; changing your morning routines... Instead of grabbing your phone as soon as you wake up, drink an 8oz glass of water, take some deep breaths, stretch, meditate, listen to a podcast, read an inspiring book, and/or exercise. Do all of the above or pick one or two at a time. Every week, add a other. See how you feel; how you change your mindset over time. The phone can wait!! What have you got to lose? You won't succeed unless you try. You night as well give it a bash! #changinghabits #goodhabits #mindset #believeinyou #positive #moveyourbody #loveher #loveyourself #succeed #youcandothis #seewhatshecando

Do you have picky eaters in your household - toddlers, teenagers, adult children and yes, spouses? 🖐 🤪 As a kid, I was forced to eat everything on my plate...couldn't leave the table until my plate was clean. Does that sound familiar?? I used a different tactic for my son, I never forced him to eat anything or for that matter, everything - that's how eating disorders can start. I tried a ton of different veggies. I believe they say, you need to try something new about 10 different times before the taste buds decide whether they like it or not. You also need to try different ways of preparation also from baking, frying boiling, sauteing etc. I have been know to sneak in various vegetables that weren't on the top 5 list into spaghetti sauces etc. 😁 For me, I guess my mum's tactics did eventually work because as a kid, I hated brussel sprouts and now I almost don't go a day without them. 😊 I just prepare them slightly differently. She had a tendency to overboil them, I prefer to bake them. When it comes to fruit, there is quite a variation of sugar content and for a daily intake, I would stick to berries and fruits like mangoes and pineapple occasionally. I would steer clear of fruit juices, as they are not whole fruits and usually have added sugar. There has been a skyrocketing rate of childhood obesity, diabetes and even high blood pressure in kids. This is due is to the higher consumption of highly processed foods, like fast foods and packaged foods. Ultimately, as the parent, we are in control of what is brought into the house. If you don't buy, they can't consume. You get to choose what goes on their plates. I'm not saying I'm perfect or that I was when, my almost 21 yr old, was growing up...but if you ask him, he will tell you, I tried. 😁 Hope this helps.
