Friday, September 27, 2019 we recognized three of our members for their accomplishments at the Warrior Games in Florida this past June. OCdt (retired) Michael Briggs and Cpt (retired) Kristina Moreau both competed for Team Canada in multiple sports, with Moreau bringing home two gold medals in 10m air rifle shooting and team golf. During the team golf competition, Moreau’s father, WO (retired) Tony Moreau was her caddy. Tony Moreau competed in the 2017 Invictus Games in Toronto. All three athletes trained at the Abilities Centre in the lead up to the Warrior Games, in particular using our sport wheelchairs and rowing ergs. Abilities Centre is proud to support these dedicated athletes and veterans!

Sunday’s fourth and final round of the 2019 LPGA CP Women's Open was stellar in so many ways. Congrats to Republic of Korea golfer Jin Young Ko who won the tournament by going bogey-free all four rounds and shooting 8 under on Sunday to take this year’s Open with a record-breaking 26 under. More than 2 million dollars was raised for SickKids Foundation and pediatric heart health through the Canadian Pacific’s CP has Heart program associated with this year’s Open. The program’s ambassador Lorie Kane and Sick Kids ambassador Kyle Hayhoe were both impressive in their roles. Congratulations to Golf Canada, the LPGA, Magna Golf Club and to the over 1000 volunteers for your success in hosting Canada’s annual premier professional women’s #golf event. Congrats also goes to the 15 Canadian golfers who earned their spot in this year’s Open and made Canadians proud of the future of professional women’s golf in Canada. Well done everyone. #seewhatshecando #CPWO #CloserToTheGame #CaseyWardGolf
Lots more #SWSCD moments from the third round of the LPGA CP Women's Open at the Magna Golf Club in the Town of Aurora. It was moving day and Canadian Brooke Henderson definitely made some moves by going 9 under over 10 holes to shoot a 65. Wow. Final day at the #CPWO is gonna be a good day. Second round and Red and White Day at the LPGA CP Women's Open on the Magna Golf Club in the Town of Aurora. Today’s play and Canadian celebrations did not disappoint. Danish golfer Nicole Broch Larsen - Professional golfer has the lead at 12 under and Canada’s Brooke Henderson is 3 shots back at 9 under. Veteran Canadian player Lorie Kane was a crowd favourite all day and responded to the tremendous support in an awesome and classy way that only she can do best. Make a point of heading out to see the play this weekend or plan to watch it on tv through TSN . Golf Canada #seewhatshecando #CPWO #CloserToTheGame

Lots of awesome golf and history in the making in the first round of the LPGA CP Women's Open at the Magna Golf Club in Aurora ON. Vancouver BC golfer Michelle Liu became the youngest Canadian at 12 years old to play at the Open. Defending champion Brooke Henderson finished the round 6 under and tied for 2nd along with fellow Canadian AC Tanguay. Fans, families and volunteers alike definitely enjoyed the great #golf shots, golf course and beautiful sunny breezy weather. Lots more golf on the agenda tomorrow. #seewhatshecando #CPWO Golf Canada
