Acupressure aims to clear blockages in the energetic channels throughout the body by applying light pressure to acupoints to restore the harmonious flow of Chi. The main belief behind this type of medicine is that our bodies can heal themselves, we just have to nudge them back towards balance.
In this video, you'll learn how acupressure can be used to help your dog with behavioural problems such as separation anxiety, difficulty concentrating, or aggression; physical problems such as joint pain, digestive issues, itchy skin, or other chronic wellness issues.

Meet Jesse McCowan
Jesse’s career makes sense if you understand that she grew up in a household where her mother does natural health therapies for people. She knew that she wanted to do natural health therapies, but for the animals. Jesse spent her early life working at all the animal-related jobs she could find. Her first job was working at an equestrian riding camp for children with disabilities. After that she worked at Lionel’s Pony Farm (4 years), Pause Awhile Equestrian Center (3 summers), volunteered at two vet clinics, and lastly as a doggy daycare/part time dog walker.
She began her official animal education by going to Western University for a Bachelor of Science (Hons.) in Animal Behaviour. Immediately after graduation she began her alternative health therapy education; iridology, reiki, acupressure, essential oils, homeopathy, laser therapy and holistic nutrition. Her mother has been using Bach Flower Essences since she was young and Jesse has known how to use them for pets for a few years.
Her passion in life is to help as many animals as possible find happy homes and stay there. The majority of her clients have chronic health issues or behavioural issues; some being rescues. She now has a 6 year old Australian Shepherd named Kaia who has been a benevolent teacher. When she isn’t working, she spends her days hiking with her pup.
