The Coaching Association of Canada (CAC) is proud to promote the Quality Coaching Campaign, funded in collaboration with the Canadian Olympic Committee and the Government of Canada through Project Lighthouse. This initiative aims to help sport leaders and coaches foster environments that prioritize safety, inclusion and accessibility for all participants.
“Coaches hold the responsibility of creating spaces where every participant feels valued and safe,” says Lorraine Lafrenière, CEO of the Coaching Association of Canada. “The Quality Coaching Campaign is a crucial step in ensuring coaches are aware of the tools and resources available to help them foster that positive sport environment.”
The campaign highlights a variety of resources, including eLearning modules, toolkits, and videos, available on the Create a Quality Sport Environment webpage.
Examples of programs and topics available include:
• Safe Sport Training – Learn to identify and prevent maltreatment
• NCCP Make Ethical Decisions – Be prepared to handle ethical situations with confidence and surety
• Responsible Coaching Movement – Advocate for safe, smart and secure sport practices
• Coaching in Canada – Elevate your understanding of the sport system in Canada, including expectations of coaches and sport organizations

“The safety and well-being of athletes is at the core of everything we do,” said Eric Myles, Chief Sport Officer of the Canadian Olympic Committee. “Through collaborative initiatives like Project Lighthouse, we are ensuring that every athlete has the opportunity to train and compete in an environment where they are welcomed and supported, at every stage of their athletic journey.”
“Canadians deserve a sport system grounded in fairness, equity and inclusion,” said the Honourable Carla Qualtrough, Minister of Sport and Physical Activity. “The Quality Coaching Campaign, supported through Project Lighthouse, is a great example of sport partners collaborating and developing practical resources to create safer sport environments and protect the physical and mental well-being of athletes and all participants.”
