Canadian Synchronized Skaters Gear Up for Busy Month of International Competition

The synchronized skating season ramps up in February, with Canadian teams set to compete in four Challenger Series events across the United States and Europe. The International Skating Union (ISU) Challenger Series provides opportunities for skaters to compete at the international level and earn valuable World Standing Points.

The month will kick off with the 2025 U.S. Synchronized Skating International Classic, taking place from February 6-8 in Massachusetts, USA. The senior event will feature world and national champions Les Suprêmes, who placed second last month at the Dresden Cup. They will skate head-to-head against Nova, silver medalists at the 2025 Canadian National Skating Championships. In the junior event, Les Suprêmes Junior and NEXXICE Junior will both have their sights set on the podium after finishing third and fourth respectively at the Dresden Cup.

Two junior synchronized skating teams will look to build on their international experience at the 2025 Hevelius Cup, taking place from February 13-16 in Gdansk, Poland. The Canadian delegation will feature ICE Ignite and Gold Ice, who finished fourth and sixth respectively at the national championships in January.

That same week, Canadian teams will also compete at the 2025 Spring Cup in Sesto San Giovanni, Italy. Taking place from February 14-16, Nova Junior will look to add another international medal to their name after recently claiming bronze at the French Cup. They will be joined by Golding Ice in the junior event.

Canada’s synchronized skaters will cap off the month in Eindhoven, Netherlands for the 2025 Lumière Cup, taking place from February 20-23rd. The senior event will see close competition between national silver medalists Nova and national bronze medalists NEXXICE. The junior event will feature Golding Ice and Gold Ice, who will look to apply learnings from their earlier events in February.
