The Women in IT Summit New York took place virtually on October 28, 2020 and it was an inspirational day filled with informative content, thought-provoking insights, and actionable recommendations. The event was scheduled to take place on March 25th of this year; a few days after New York City, the United States and Canada went into lockdown as a result of COVID-19.
The year since then has been challenging for businesses, families, job security, health and our mental wellbeing. The year has also seen a virtual makeover en masse to the world of conferences and summits. While this event was not my first time speaking to delegates through a Zoom call, it was my first time speaking internationally with some pretty amazing women through this type of format. The team at Bonhill did a stellar job pivoting to live stream this summit on October 29, 2020, surpassing 800 registrations from around the globe and inspiring delegates to take action for a better world.
As a professional with a passion for tech for good, this conference was truly inspiring. It was so beautiful to see our global community of women come together to spark much needed change. The event organizers created something special by bringing startups, scale ups, corporate and educational speakers to the table to have conversations about making real impact.
Tune in as our panel of speakers tackles:
How corporations can embed social and sustainable values as they find their feet again
Equality in education, diverse participation in sport and ethical sourcing: old priorities in a new world
Using the crisis as a channel to tackle problems within our environment
What you can do in your role, your team, your organisation and society to support tech for good in the coming months
I was priviledged to share a virtual roundtable with these great panelists. So great to see the thread of sport sprinkled through our collective lives and how it's impacted us all personally and professionally.
