SeeWhatSheCanDo
September 21, 2022
Each year, the Coaching Association of Canada takes one full week in September to mark National Coaches Week. A time to celebrate 'the positive impact coaches have on athletes and communities across Canada'; to thank the women and men who coach; and 'to recognize the integral role they play' in making sport at all levels happen.
SeeWhatSheCanDo deeply values the role that coaches play in sport too. We are grateful for the efforts, time and resources women and men have chosen to give and invest in becoming coaches and leaders - most often as volunteers - with the many thousands of local, provincial and national sport organizations that provide Canadians with the chance to play sports and be physically active in their own communities and beyond.
We also believe that everyone should have the ability to see themselves reflected in the coaching stories and in the world of coaching. We want women to see that coaching can be an important way in which to reach their full potential as an individual and to experience a positive coaching journey through a strong sense of community and connectedness within the world of sport.
SWSCD is excited and appreciative of the opportunity to tell some great coaching stories and for the chance to create a greater sense of community that surrounds the women who coach or who are considering the world of coaching through our SWSCD Women Coaches Circle in partnership with the Town of Aurora.
As players and active participants ourselves, as well as parents of daughters who play sports, we too want to say "Thanks Coach!" for all that you do for us, our families and the local communities in which we live.

Caroline bridged her 20+ years of professional experience in the sport and recreation industry together with her passions for photography and supporting women in sport to create SeeWhatSheCanDo. Her vision is to create a welcoming space where active women find a sense of belonging within their own local community, see themselves in authentic and awe-inspiring ways and find resources to help them be their best active selves.
Tina is a Canadian-bred storyteller and Co-Founder of SeeWhatSheCanDo. Lover of all things outdoors, Tina's happy place is surrounded by forest, water and mountains. In moments when she isn't moving outdoors, CrossFitting or playing hockey, you'll find her watching her daughters on the dance floor or playing hockey, reading a book, or cooking up a storm.
Judy loves to share her view of the world from her keyboard – most often with a dose of tongue in cheek humour. When she is not using her mom spidey-sense to juggle the hockey, basketball, rugby, soccer and work schedules of a family of five, Judy may be at the gym in spin class, walking the pooch, playing hockey, or skiing.
