Evolve Women's Volleyball League is a great example of how the passion to play drove a few women to create a destination for experienced recreational players to regularly play competitive volleyball.  

Evolve Volleyball League based out of Unionville started out with a few women who had a passion for playing volleyball.  Lisa Shin and Maurita Wong headed up the organization and started the league in 2009.  Remembering their days of playing on a school team, they wanted to recreate the competitive spirit and the joy of playing in a team setting as organized adult women's league.  The goal of Evolve Volleyball was to bring together women who shared this vision and passion for playing. 

Evolve strives to play competitively with rules and paid officials and captains leading each team.  The league has tryouts and drafts each September to ensure an equal level of play amongst each team and to ensure that every player can participate safely at a similar level of play.  Players must be familiar with common systems such as 6-2 and 5-1.   Positions are set for each player for consistency.  Just like the name. 

Just like the name EVOLVE, the league is evolving each year to make it more suitable for the needs of the current members. The league plays from 6:30 - 8:30 pm on Thursday nights in Unionville,
