Action kicks off this morning in Brantford for the women’s side of the Stu Sells NISSAN Classic! The twenty women’s teams - from Canada, Korea and Switzerland - have been separated into five pools of four based on points on the world ranking. Team Brandwood will first compete in pool play against team Inglis, Ladouceur and Deschene (in that order). The top team from each pool will advance directly to the quarter finals. Seeds six through eleven will be entered into a wildcard playoff match to gain the last three spots in the quarter final matches. The event will conclude on Monday with semi-finals at noon and the final at 3:30 pm.
The game against Team Ladouceur will be live streamed on the CurlingLIVE YouTube channel with commentary and all remaining games will be live streamed on the Team Brandwood Facebook page.
This weekend is important as it marks the end of the Trillium Series events. Meaning the last chance for teams to gain points towards automatic entry into the Ontario Scotties and Tankard provincials to be held in Port Elgin in January. Good luck to all teams competing this weekend!
