Hey moms, dads, aunts, uncles and caregivers. Looking to give the little girl in your life the chance to learn something new? Need ideas for a fun and active birthday party? Or just want to give your little one a chance to gain self-confidence, and bicycling skills, in a highly controlled and safe environment?
Not far from the main drag in Markham Ontario, is Canada's largest indoor bike park called Joyride 150. Set up much like a ski hill with colour coded shapes and signs to help riders understand difficulty levels, Joyride covers 100,000 square feet. Bikers of all ages and abilities get the chance to experience all kinds of bike fun including a foam pit, pump tracks, jump lines, a street plaza, resi jump, a vert park, outdoor dirt jumps (weather permitting), and a cross-country flow trail. Unclear as to what a pump track, resi jump or vert park is? Check out Joyride's First Time Visitor's Page that answers a lot of basic questions to help get you started even before you walk through the park's doors.
Bring your own bike and helmet or rent bikes, helmets, and padding there. If you choose to bring your own bike, check out their Bike Check page to make sure your bike makes the grade for Joyride. Although the primary goal is to be a place for riders to drop in, Joyride offers year-round programming for all ages and abilities including after-school programs, weekly summer camps, and private instruction. Specific events and clinics are also programmed at different times too.
