Meet Toula Pappas, a talented student in her first year at Trent University. She's studying Ancient Greek and Roman Studies and English Literature and loves classical studies and literature.
Outside of school, Toula is a published writer and has won awards for her writing. She's also into visual arts and has even had her work displayed in a professional art exhibition.
In the world of sports, Toula is a curler and has learned from some famous curling coaches. She's been mentored by people like Robin Brydone, Hammy McMillan, and Mark Ideson, who is a Paralympic Medalist. All this coaching has made her a better curler.
Toula's dad has been a city councillor in Peterborough for 16 years, showing that public service runs in her family.
Even though she hasn't competed at the national level in curling yet, Toula and her team are super close. They wear matching Ted Lasso socks during playoff games to show how much they care about teamwork and having fun while aiming for success on the curling rink.
