Elite competitive curling has a long and storied history in Canada. Over the years, the opportunities to play at the game's highest level have grown from primarily entering local, regional, provincial and national championships to today having the chance to compete in multiple professional curling tours where teams now have the opportunity to earn sometimes significant prize money.

Team Artichuk Summer Recap
One such elite Canadian competitive team is Team Artichuk. A newly created team for the 2024 - 2025 curling season and made up of four curlers with extensive national and international experience. They include skip Emma Artichuk, Megan Smith at third, Megan's sister Jamie Smith at second, and Lauren Rajala at lead. Together with their coach Sean Turriff, Team Artichuk have so far competed in seven events since their competitive season got underway late in the month of August.
In January, the team will focus its efforts when they will be one of 8 teams (direct entry) to play in Northern Ontario Curling Association's 2025 Women's Northern Ontario Curling Championships - Northern Ontario Scotties - which will give them the chance to earn the right to represent Northern Ontario at Curling Canada's 2025 Women's National Curling Championship - Scotties Tournament of Hearts (SCOH) - where Team Artichuk would compete for the right to be called Canada's best women's curling team.
Team Artichuk is based out of the Northern Credit Union Community Centre (NCUCC) located in Sudbury, Ontario.
